Re: LNG in not a “clean” fuel: Exposing the massive climate impacts of fossil gas exports
Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 10 a.m. (EDT) the future of Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) will be discussed in light of FERC’s authority and recent approvals of new LNG infrastructure at a hearing held by the Subcommittee on Energy, Climate, and Grid Security of the Committee on Energy and Commerce entitled “Oversight of FERC: Adhering to a Mission of Affordable and Reliable Energy for America.”
Last month, Senator Merkley, Representatives Huffman, Barragan, Grijalva, and 40 other members of Congress sent a letter to the Council on Environmental Quality’s Chair Brenda Mallory opposing the continued expansion of LNG infrastructure and capacity. Read the letter here.
