Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced today the endorsement of Seth Moulton for re-election to the U.S. House representing Massachusetts’ 6th Congressional District.
“Representative Moulton has always fought for the right of everyone in Massachusetts to live in a healthy environment and safe climate,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President for Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “Representative Moulton has been a tremendous advocate for our clean energy future and for protecting our democracy. We are excited to support his campaign so that he can continue to help lead the fight for climate action, jobs and justice.”
“Throughout his time in Congress, Representative Moulton has shown time and time again that he is committed to making Massachusetts and the U.S. a leader in action on climate change,” said Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund Executive Director Casey Bowers. “Rep. Moulton understands that our state must continue to lead the nation towards a just and equitable clean energy future, and his work leading on clean transit and high-speed rail is critical to making our environment healthy and accessible to all. We are glad to see LCV Action Fund support Representative Moulton’s campaign and we look forward to continuing our work together in Congress.”
“I’m proud to stand with the League of Conservation Voters in their efforts to combat climate change,” said Seth Moulton. “The time for serious action is long overdue. The world is literally on fire, and that makes our inability to act that much more frustrating. I have long-championed policy solutions – like high-speed rail – that cultivate a more sustainable future for our country. We need serious solutions, we need innovation, and we need it now.”
Representative Seth Moulton sits on the House Armed Services Committee, Budget Committee and the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, where he is a leader on infrastructure and high-speed rail. Last year, he introduced the American High-Speed Rail Act, which looks to create a rail system that would serve as an alternative to driving and flying. He has been a strong supporter of climate and democracy legislation in Congress, having been one of the first supporters of the Green New Deal. In 2021, Moulton introduced the STOP CSO Act which worked to address sewer overflows in publicly owned water treatment facilities.
The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, the connected federal political action committee (PAC) of the League of Conservation Voters, works to elect leaders who stand up for a clean, healthy environment and to defeat anti-environment candidates who oppose climate action. Since the 1990 election cycle, LCVAF has helped elect and re-elect 95 U.S. Senators and 462 members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Over the last several years, our efforts have also helped elevate climate change and clean energy as critical issues in key elections.
