LCV Announces ‘Largest Investment Ever’ for 2024 GreenRoots Member Mobilization Field Program

Aug 1, 2024

Washington D.C. – Today, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV), announced its largest investment ever for its member mobilization program, GreenRoots, which will mobilize LCV’s national membership in support of 25 LCV Action fund-endorsed candidates in battleground states. Thousands of LCV members across the country will knock doors, make calls, write letters, and turn out voters in support of climate champions, including Vice President Kamala Harris and U.S. Senate and U.S. House candidates.

LCV will invest a historic $2.5 million into GreenRoots to organize in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin, in addition to a distributive team organizing other LCV members across the country to volunteer remotely or travel to battleground states. GreenRoots is one of the largest coordinated field programs in progressive politics and has had a significant impact since it was first launched in 2012. Last cycle, GreenRoots mobilized over 8,500 LCV members who completed over 16,500 volunteer shifts on behalf of LCV Action Fund-endorsed candidates.

“LCV members are fired up to mobilize across the country and elect leaders who will continue the transformational progress of the Biden-Harris administration and pro-environment, pro-democracy champions in Congress,” said LCV Vice President of Field Jennessa Agnew. “The stakes for people and the planet are higher than ever as communities continue to be impacted by record breaking extreme temperatures, which is why LCV is all-in with our largest investment ever to mobilize thousands of our members across the country to help elect climate and environmental justice champions. The contrast couldn’t be more clear between MAGA extremists and the pro-climate, pro-democracy champions who will continue to fight for people and the planet.”
