Washington, D.C.— Today, the League of Conservation Voters announced our participation in Civic Nation’s Save On Clean Energy campaign, alongside a nonpartisan coalition of over 50 businesses, organizations, and local government leaders. Earlier this month the League of Conservation Voters also launched a robust door-to-door canvassing program in Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Michigan, where they will knock on 296,000 doors to engage community members about the consumer benefits of President Biden’s Affordable Clean Energy Plan, raise awareness of the Inflation Reduction Act’s clean energy investments, and connect homeowners and renters to cost-savings they may be eligible for.
“We are thrilled to be a part of the Save On Clean Energy campaign that will help consumers and communities lower their energy bills and save on clean energy upgrades,” said Lisa Hoyos, Senior Director, Federal Climate and Clean Energy Solutions for the League of Conservation Voters. “A key component of building a clean energy future is helping to raise awareness about the initiatives, programs, and tax credits that are available to families across the country to help save them money on their utilities and that is exactly what this campaign aims to do. We applaud the Biden-Harris administration for creating new federal incentives in the Clean Energy Plan that makes clean energy more affordable and accessible for families and look forward to continuing to work with the Biden-Harris administration to build a clean energy economy that lowers costs, creates family-sustaining jobs, and protects our environment.”
Save On Clean Energy is a national public education campaign to help consumers and communities lower their energy bills and save on clean energy upgrades. The campaign will include launching a clean energy savings resource hub, coordinating a series of customized trainings, briefings, and workshops for key stakeholders to learn about clean energy saving opportunities, and partnering with local elected officials and community based organizations to host events across the country to highlight how communities are already benefiting from these clean energy investments, showing the impact of these clean energy incentives firsthand.
